CACTUS AND SUCCULENT CARE
Updated: Oct 12, 2019
We all know flowers are beautiful, but green plants such as cactus and succulents also express their own unique sense of beauty. However, it’s not easy to care for such plants.
Here are some important tips that Love U Flowers suggests for successful cactus and succulent care.
TIPS for Cactus and Succulents:
More sunlight, please! Cactus and Succulents love sunlight. Sometimes the environment that you place them in may be too dim for the plants’ needs. Make sure that your plant is getting a lot of sunlights. Tip: For most cactus plants, the darker the color is, the less sunlight it needs in order to thrive. (Source: Philadelphia Magazine)
Sometimes, less is more. Less watering is good for cactus and succulents. Watering too much is the most common mistake that people make without realizing when raising such plants. Cactus and Succulents need to be watered only once every two to three weeks. Water wisely depending on the season (water less in the colder seasons and more in the warmer season. Tip: Make sure there are holes on the bottom of your pot for drainage! According to a report by the University of Illinois, “[Drainage] allows water in the soil to drain freely so adequate air is available for the roots. While various kinds of plants have differing drainage needs, few can tolerate sitting in stagnate water.”
